Eggs and Dragons!

Starting last Friday, we had our annual egg hunt in the dorm. The dorm parents hid over 50 candy-filled eggs all over the dorm and our girls have been hunting for them ever since. They are good "finders" but we are better "hiders"...there are still a few hidden!

He's scared to be found!

This goofball is hiding in plain sight!

She's shyly hiding behind the blinds...

This one's a little worried about falling down before being found!
At the dorm meeting on Sunday, we took a quick "stress break" outside to take some swings at Cheyenne's leftover birthday pinata. =)

Roller Skating Party!

Tonight was so, SO much fun. We decided to take our whole dorm to a roller skating party, and we rented out the whole rink just for the Barnies. =) We all got roller skates, and we had two races! (Check out the videos to see who our fastest Barnies on wheels are!) Then there was Karaoke and Laser Tag (which, Cheyenne apparently rocks at). There was also an arcade with air hockey and race car driving and skeeball, and there was pizza too. AND we got to win ridiculous little prizes like a slinky and temporary tattoos and candy and tiny little dolphins (that made Lia and Niko ridiculously happy--see creepy photo below.) All in all, it was such an incredible way to spend time together and be reminded how much we love our dorm. Yay. Scroll down for videos from the skating races and the Karaoke--including a special appearance by Lee and Jordan!!)

Lots of Updates!!

Lots of big things to share from our dorm meeting tonight!

  • First, the dorm leader selection process for next year has begun, and the first step was electing a student to represent our dorm on the student interview committee. Congratulations to Ellery, who was elected to this position this year. We know she'll be a great representative!
  • Speaking of elections, we heard that our very own dorm leader and Barnie CHEYENNE was selected to be the senior student speaker at graduation this year. That's a HUGE honor--and, might we mention, the second year in a row that a Barn Dorm Leader has been selected. Congrats, Cheyenne!
  • CSW's community service committee always gathers students to do a team walk for CSW.  This year, Briana had the brilliant idea to further recruit Barnies to form a team and walk together. The money we raise will be counted towards CSW's overall fundraising for the walk. Our dorm goal is to raise $500 and so far, we're 36% of the way there. If you'd like to help support our team, please donate HERE.
  • Finally, we also decided it was time to continue to learn different phrases in different languages. This week, Briana suggested we learn to say "How was your awakening/How did you sleep?" (Unfortunately, Michael was cooking baby and I a late dinner, so we didn't learn Danish together. But he says it sounds like this: "So du godt?") Here's the photo for the rest of the languages...

New Swing for Spring!

We're so excited to be sporting this new patio swing outside the dorm! Sadly, the day after we brought it out, it snowed!!! Crazy New England weather!

Happy Birthday, Rowan, Cheyenne, and Tilly!

This is a bit belated for a birthday post, but we had three days of birthdays in a row: Rowan H., Cheyenne, and Tilly! We celebrated with "dirt" for Rowan H. (made with pudding, crushed cookies, and gummy worms), Klondike bars for Cheyenne, and Pita chips, hummus, and clementines for Tilly! YAY!
