Asha's Capstone

Asha's capstone involved working with children at an elementary school in Dorchester where she also organized a bunch of projects and a book drive! Her presentation today included an awesome video...YAY ASHA!

Congratulations to our 2011-2012 Dorm Leaders!

We had such incredible candidates for the dorm leader position for next year that it made the selection process very difficult! All candidates went through an application process that included an essay and two interviews--with  dorm parents, current dorm leaders, and their peers from all four dorms. So we want to really thank everyone that put themselves forward and went through the process. We were very proud of all of our candidates, because they all presented themselves so well throughout the interview process.

Last night, we announced the selection of the following candidates as dorm leaders for next year..........

...................Briana, KyoungHee, and Tilly!  MANY SUPER CONGRATULATIONS to all of you!  This is the first year that we'll be experimenting with three dorm leaders in our dorm, but we realized that with 29 students and many seniors planning a mod off for their capstone, that it might really benefit the whole dorm to try three dorm leaders.

I Love You!

Last night at our dorm meeting, we learned how to say "I love you" in many languages...here's a phonetic guide in case you want to learn along with us!

Sarah's Capstone

Sarah spent a mod exploring Hong Kong and creating Hong Kong-inspired art, and she did her presentation this week as well! That means she's practically ready to graduate. =(
CONGRATS, SARAH!

Happy Mod Break!

May is a long Mod Break, which means it's a bit quieter than normal around our dorm! It means we get to see more of each other, so we took advantage and ordered in dinner last night and all ate together in our common room and then watched a little tv together.

Seeeeennnniiiiiors!!!!

At our last dorm meeting, our resident seniors announced their college plans for next year. Though we'll be crying as we send them off, we're very proud to share the following news:

  • Asha will be attending George Washington
  • Cheyenne will be attending Kalamazoo
  • Kirin will be attending Bennington
  • Julia will be attending Drexel
  • Lia will be attending Sarah Lawrence
  • Sarah S. will be attending the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD)
Of course, after that, we decided we needed to learn how to say CONGRATULATIONS to them in many languages. In case you want to know too...

Happy Birthday, Mingwei!

May 3 was Mingwei's birthday, and we celebrated at our dorm meeting with watermelon and birthday cake! YAY!

Walk for Hunger

Briana took the initiative to organize a Barn Dorm team to walk in the Walk for Hunger, which raises money for Project Bread. We're very proud of our team, which raised nearly $700 for a great cause!!! (This means we've raised around $1000 for charities this year.) Go Barnies!
